WHO WE ARE

WHO WE ARE

We are changemakers advancing gender equity in the workplace, home and community. We combine big picture vision, with evidence based and results-driven strategy, harnessed by grass roots action.

We start movements with an intended legacy; cultivating an equitable community and innovative workplace culture that prioritises the health and wellbeing of our society.

OUR MISSION

We Are Untold exists to shape stories that imagine a better, more equitable future. To tap untold potential through telling untold stories.

Our projects are designed to captivate, inspire, and provoke thoughtful reflection, weaving narratives through visual arts, performance and multimedia expressions that enrich our cultural tapestry.

Amplify untold, underrepresented stories.

Cultivate inclusive, diverse, equitable, and vibrant communities.

Promote cross-industry stories that break down gendered and stereotypical roles.

Campaign for innovative workplace culture that prioritises health and wellbeing.

Address the invisibility of women’s contributions to our society and economy.

Advocate for equitable caring roles and unpaid work in the home and community.

Represent women in art and public commemoration.

Value paid and unpaid caring work, and feminised industries.

Inspire role models and a legacy for future generations.

OUR IMPACT

We integrate the arts, public and private sectors through cross-industry storytelling. Public artwork, in a workplace and community setting, has the potential to be far reaching, impacting change in workplace culture and society as a whole. We recognise the art sector as instrumental in social change, who bear a responsibility as the storytellers of culture and history.

Storytelling

THE FOUNDER

Megan Champion, Founder and Creative Director

No Seat at the Table

I am a dynamic and communicative curator and storyteller. With a comprehensive background managing creative projects, campaigns, and events, I thrive in multitasking across numerous activities and production phases.

As a mother of three, I am intrigued by sociology, and parental/child development, with a deep understanding of the profound impact of art on health, culture, and society.

With a background in creative and performing arts, fashion, marketing and education, I bring a wealth of experience to the table.

The only problem is- there are no seats.

So I made my own.

WE ARE UNTOLD

Balancing the Scales to Equity.

Whilst creating my table, I looked around and noticed who else was missing. I decided one table was not big enough. We need a new structure, to redesign society.

Untold, by definition, can mean many things:

Kept secret.

Unheard.

Too much.

Too many to be counted, measured, or expressed in words.

I champion (pun intended), those who are unheard and seek to reveal our untold potential through the telling of untold stories. These stories can revolutionise our society- drawing lessons from our past, informing our present and transforming our future.

At We Are Untold our mission is to amplify underrepresented stories for an inclusive, diverse, and vibrant community. Committed to societal evolution, we challenge gender stereotypes, advocating for equitable leadership and caring roles at home, work, and in the community.

Addressing the invisibility of women's contributions, we aim to rebalance the scales of history by representing women in art and public commemorations. We strive to create a lasting legacy, envisioning a world where all contributions are recognized, valued, and embedded in our culture, society, and history.

I am just one person, so I will start with my hometown, and leave navigating the world seas to those with more privilege and power than me. But even the smallest ripple can create waves.

WOMEN OF GOLD

Mapping My Path

I conceived the Women of Gold project in 2021, in the aftermath of the pandemic. I endeavoured to address the invisibility of women’s contributions, bridging gaps between women across different industries and diverse life experiences.

Women are not a homogenous group. We are individually unique, but face common barriers and experiences, submerged in a treacherous sea of systemic discrimination, stereotypes, bias, financial insecurity, and violence.

And so, I venture into uncharted territory, mapping the representation of women’s experiences and its impact on the systems and structures in our society. In solidarity with the courageous women around me and before me, I set a new course – to embed women’s perspectives in our culture, society, and history.

This project may seem a drop in the ocean, but with each drop, a ripple will lift the next, forming a cascade of change.

At times, it feels like I am drowning under the pressure and weight of change that needs to happen. But each time I have doubted my courage, a woman has shown me the way, lit my path, and I have found my strength, resilience, and perseverance to keep going.

I hope this project serves as a beacon of light for others who are struggling to stay afloat.

The Women of Gold project, a force for change, amplifies untold stories, breaks gender roles, addresses invisibility, advocates for equity, and inspires future generations.

Together, we are untold.
